sustainable business development which provides employment opportunities for the local community. It is governed
by a mixture of current and retired business and government leaders.

Current projects include:

  • Supporting the development of the ANSTO Innovation Precinct at Lucas Heights
  • Negotiating with the NSW government/transport companies to provide a shuttle service to transport
  • Submitted a Tax reform package to the Federal Government based on a survey of local business
  • Promote the vision of Sutherland as the Commercial Centre of the Shire
  • Organised Forums with prominent speakers to address issues of interest to local businesses

NEWS

The ShireBiz/Southern Strength sponsored National Robotics & Automation Group met at ANSTO
on 24th October and ANSTO experts presented on the impact of radiation on equipment and personnel.

They also outlined some potential applications of Robotics at ANSTO.  NRAG meets on 20th November
to select the most appropriate project for the group to pursue.

DIN Official Launch, 15 October 2018, NSW Parliament House
NSW Minister for Trade and Industry, The Hon. Niall Blair will officially launch NSW Defence Innovation Network on 15 October, and Assistant Minister for Defence, Sen. The Hon. David Fawcett, will be one of many notable guests.  The event will be attended by representatives of NSW Government, DST, defence primes, SMEs, universities and ADF, RAN, and RAAF.

DIN will have a presence at Euronaval as a part of the official Team Defence Australia trade mission. Euronaval is one of the leading naval defence and maritime technologies trade exhibitions in the world and DIN will be there to promote the critical mass of world-leading R&D capabilities housed in our member universities.

Sutherland Shire Men’s Breakfast

  • The Annual Sutherland Shire Men’s Breakfast, is held in support of the Sutherland Shire’s White Ribbon Day Walk, being held on Friday 23rd November,  walking from Don Lucas Reserve Wanda 10.30am  to Dunningham Park North Cronulla.
    Due to NSW Parliamentary sitting day falling on Tuesday 23rd October and the Annual Local Government Conference being held the week commencing 22nd October,  it has been decided to reschedule the date of the men’s breakfast to Tuesday 30th October to provide an opportunity for all to attend.  Please see below confirmation of details for the day.Venue:
